A Few New Photos

Hi all! I know, I haven't been the best at posting already, but I promise things will start to pick up in the next couple weeks. I officially only have 8 more days until I leave for Cambodia! The photos above were taken by my boss while I was working with my new undergraduate student, Laura. She has been doing a wonderful job helping me around the lab, and is now starting to work on our Turfgrass project. Above we were weighing out various soil samples for hot-acid digestions to analyze the total concentration of different elements (here we will be looking at arsenic, phosphorus and iron). I promise to tell you more about this Turfgrass project in the near future.

Anyway, come back soon to find out what kind of adventures we will get ourselves into.

Are you ready for some traveling and science?

If you are, you've come to the right place! I am extremely fortunate to be able to sample around the world for my work in environmental science. I am currently studying soil and hydrogeochemistry at NC State University where I am a research specialist in the Soil Science department. Right now I am working at a site in North Carolina which will be featured here shortly. Next month (November), I will be traveling to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to collect water and soil samples while wells are installed. While away, I plan on using this site as a work diary so people can see what I'm up to. Stay tuned for more information...
